Legendary South African former referee Ian McLeod has died.
The renowned former referee officiated at the 1998 World Cup in France and at some AFCON tournaments.
He became a Fifa referee in 1993.
McLeod was admitted to hospital last week, and died on Thursday night.At the time of his death, McLeod was a Senior Referees Manager at SAFA.
Meanwhile, after he retired from refereeing he assisted the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) as a match commissioner.
His death was confirmed on twitter:
