A case of malicious damage to city property, assault and obstruction of justice has been opened.
This after an attack on two law enforcement officers in Ottery, Cape Town.
They were pelted with stones by residents who wanted to free a drug dealer from being arrested.
Community leaders have condemned the act and fear that services in the community may be limited after this incident.
