Sihle Zikalala calls for prioritisation of women in construction industry

The Deputy Minister of Public Works, Sihle Zikalala, is calling for the prioritization of women in the construction Industry.

Zikalala was speaking at the elective conference of South African Women in Construction at Jeppestown in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The organization was launched in 1997 for the empowerment of women within the construction industry.

The deputy minister has committed to an ongoing engagement with the organization to advance procurement that will target women-run businesses in construction.

“Construction and property portfolio of the department must be opened for women, and the youth, and Africans in general,” said Zikalala.
