Seven suspects arrested in connection with the murder of whistleblower Babita Deokaran are due in the Johannesburg magistrate’s court on Monday. The Gauteng Health official was gunned down outside her home last week.
Deokaran was a key witness in a probe into PPE tender fraud. It’s believed the suspects were paid to plan and execute her murder.
Two firearms and two vehicles were confiscated during the arrest. Deokaran was buried on Thursday.
